I earned my high school diploma from Beloit Memorial High, in Beloit, Wisconsin 1969; bachelors degree from LaCrosse State University (U.W. LaCrosse) in LaCrosse, Wisconsin 1973, and my masters from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona 1976. I began my teaching career in the Phoenix Union High School District in September of 1973. There I taught health, physical education classes, and special education. I retired from the Phoenix Union High School District in May of 2003.
I have been the physical education instructor at Liberty Charter School since August of 2004. I teach four classes four days a week. I see nearly every LTCS student for one hour of instruction during each week of the school year (350-480 students). The following is a list of the tasks performed during the school year.
Each student receives mid term and quarter grades (eight marking periods).
Homework is assigned and evaluated for grades 4-8.
Student plan for success is developed and implemented.
Lessons are planned weekly.
Physical skills evaluations/assessments are done for all students.
Presidential physical fitness program is adapted and modified for students each semester.
Letters are sent to parents/guardians.
Phone calls or visits with parents/guardians.
In-services are attended.
New activities are added each semester.
Classes use areas that are available when conflicts prevent use of our facilities.
Adjust class schedule to meet all classes as needed or requested.
Acquire equipment or materials form community on loan or free gratis.
Substitute educator as needed in emergencies.
Sincerely,
